Meeting People
Knocking on doors for the first time can be nerve-racking, but after the first door it gets easier. It may take two or three doors before you feel comfortable with your pitch.
There are three simple steps to meeting people effectively:
1. Smile — 2. Eye contact — 3. Enthusiasm
1. Smile:
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
A warm smile sets the tone and makes people more receptive.
Smiles are contagious — use that to your advantage.
2. Eye Contact:
Eye contact shows honesty, confidence, and sincerity.
Looking away appears deceptive.
If direct eye contact feels too strong at first, focus on the area between their eyes.
3. Enthusiasm:
Enthusiasm sells.
If you sound excited about what you are promoting, your customers will feel that energy and mirror it.
Find something about your product or your day that genuinely excites you.
